The Canon Digital Rebel XSi represents Canon’s response to the increasingly tight and competing nature of the market in line entry of DSLR. Where the EOS 300D, due at least part of its success to the simple lack of the competitors, the market in 2008 is a very different place indeed, and one that is Nikon seen by (with D40/D40x/D60) cuts out an important section of the action, and where Olympus, Sony and Pentax have strong offers at the years of points of the price right there is unthinkable.
