I had the impression that this is a prosumer cam with 24p capabilities, but this is nothing but a very small palm cam. Which is no question that the one cam palm as far as I can. This is one of the reasons why I did not Canon not much. . . Buyer Beware not be sucked in by the 24p HD capability. First Canon lenses suck! This camera is and what the consumer is not prosumer. . . If someone for a good prosumer camera with 24p capabilities, you look at the JVC prosumer cam, a better general picture is looking camcorder with a big lens and quality characteristics. . .

I bought this camera less than a week ago under the leadership of these reviews. The camera is outdated. The required mini-SD card is needed, not made. You will not not be able to find one in each story – Best Buy, Office Depot is not Walmart. I called the Canon technical support and they were not able to find one. You can one from Amazon through one of its “partners” in order, but that does not change the fact that to be one and you do not need a mini-SD card a few months from now, chances are that you not in a position to find one. The specialist at Best Buy told me that no one makes them obsolete cards that nobody uses. I asked why and he said it was because they were a piece of scrap. I was told that Canon is the latest version of this camera uses an SD card regularly. I am seriously thinking to Amazon for this piece of crap returning. I will never buy another Canon product, and is certainly not buy more electronics from Amazon. If I were an out-of-date to reject outdated wanted cheap, I would go somewhere [. . . i], where we expect these items can be. I got a new camera. The only thing new about this camera right out of the box. But it is an outdated piece of shit. If Canon gave a damn about its customers (I have two Canon Powershot digital cameras), she would remember this and refuses to use them from the market. My call to their technical support is provided, but nothing makes me angrier. Canon also no mini-SD card. (Keep this in mind before you even think about buying something from Canon – they do not support their products.) Should contain at least a couple of mini-SD card in the package. DO NOT BUY !!!!! CANON OBSOLETE NOT BUY! DO NOT BUY electronics from Amazon! My advice, go to Best Buy and see what they have and then buy Sony or JVC or any other brand. At least you know you get the latest products. I bought this camera because I have elderly parents could no longer take long and I wanted to videotape the upcoming holidays have. Now I spend time on this shit always ready to ship back to Amazon.

The HV40 is a great camera. The ability to shoot in true 24p which is really my attention and I never had a HV20 or HV30, I knew it was a good choice. Even the camera seems too much in the manual control to give you the intricacies of the investigation. It would be useful to the mobile phone to lock the exposure and Tricks research. At the end of this camera is a perfect partner for a 35mm adapter or someone looking for a high-end prosumer cameras.

In 2007 I bought an HV20 which are no longer in my possession. I bought the HV40 especially because I thought I was my old tapes recorded in HD with the HV20 to view. Unfortunately I had to admit that this did not work as HV20 in PAL format, while the HV40 rcording in NTSC. Big disappointment and I had known this before I went away for a tapeless camera type. It is assumed that in HDTV, the difference between PAL and NTSC no longer play a role. Producer and Amazon should be on their pages to the consumer, that’s not to warn, and should also be made clear by both versions!
